Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Jay Quin to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?
Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
JQ: I started writing when I was about 6 or 7. I’ve always had a big imagination and writing was the best way to capture it.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
JQ: I’m signed with After Hours Publication. There’s a lot of good writers with this company. I’ve even read their stories so I feel honored.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
JQ: I do majority romance although I recently got a sci-fi story idea.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
JQ: My only pen name is Jay Quin.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “For Love and War”. What was this book about?
JQ: “For Love and War” is about a young married couple’s struggle against meddling family, friends, and others. Luke and Wynn are the main characters. They’re crazy in love, but everyone around them tries to break them apart. They have to fight a war to win the love.

Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
JQ: “For Love and War” is a two part series. It’s just too juicy to fit it all in one book. The second part was recently released. It can be found here.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
JQ: This is my first time interviewing for my work. I always try to answer any questions my readers have though. I think it’s very important to stay connected.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
JQ: For me, reviews are very important. I like to know what the readers want. Sometimes, it’s nice to have feedback.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
JQ: For me “building a brand” means creating stories so great that thousands of readers know me for them. It means becoming a phenomenal author with a massive fan base.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
JQ: I’m constantly promoting my work on social media. I also have a page dedicated to my writing person Jay Quin as well as a website.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
JQ: I just want to share my imagination with others and have them enjoy it. I’m a hopeless romantic and I want to provide good reads for people like me.
Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?
JQ: NEVER give up. Writing is an art and arts can be mastered. Keep writing. Start a blog. Join Wattpad. One day your chance will come.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Jay Quin?
JQ: I’m currently writing a historical fiction romance series on Wattpad. It’s FREE so check it out. It’s titled “Honor The Throne”. I’m also working on multiple steamy romance stories that I’m planning to get my publisher’s feedback on. There’s much more from me to come.
Slyce: Name three authors you’d love to work with.
JQ: Ooh this one is difficult. I love so many authors in lots of genres.
- LB Keen (I’ve been obsessively reading her work since I joined the After Hour family – she’s great!)
- Kiera Cass (she wrote a romance/end of the World Series that I cannot get enough of)
- Christine Gray (she gave me a chance and it would be great to collaborate with her)

Slyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?
JQ: “For Love and War” is currently on eBook format, but eventually it will be available in paperback.
