Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Bre’Youn to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?
Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
Bre’Youn: I’ve always like to write and read. The authors that I read now, I’ve just been so amazed by their writing style. So, one day I was just like, why not submit your manuscript and see where things go. After I did that, seemed like everything just flowed.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
Bre’Youn: I am currently signed with Major Keys Publishing Company 🤗
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
Bre’Youn: I write urban fiction for now. Later, I’m hoping to expand to another genre.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
Bre’Youn: Nope and I don’t think I ever will.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Stone Cold”. What was this book about?
Bre’Youn: “Stone Cold” is about a woman named Kameron and a man named Zeke. It tells a story about their separate careers and how they come together. In them coming together, they don’t realize that they are both keeping secrets.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
Bre’Youn: It’s a series. Book 1 is out now. Book 2 will be released on Dec 20. Book 3 is in the works now.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
Bre’Youn: Interviews are really important. You get to answer questions that your readers always want to know. To me, it’s kind of a way for your readers to get closer to you.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
Bre’Youn: Reviews are veryyyyyy important. It’s kind of a way for people who are interested in your book to see that it’s really a good book from other people point of views.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
Bre’Youn: To me it means, you’re building a name for yourself. Your name is your brand and everything else. Your brand is your empire; it’s your legacy that you’ll have to leave behind when it’s all said and done.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
Bre’Youn: Right now, just to make it to book 3 LOL. No but seriously, one goal I wish to achieve is to write books so dope that it keeps everyone talking. I want to always keep my readers entertained and wanting me. If I can continue to do that then the battle is half way won!
Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?
Bre’Youn: If it’s what you want to do, take the opportunity if presented and do it. If it’s not presented, create your own lane and do it. You never know what can come about doing what you love to do.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Bre’Youn?
Bre’Youn: Yes there is. I’m currently working on book 3 in this series and another book. There will be details on that book later on. I’m claiming 2018 as my year so just keep your eyes and ears open because this won’t be the last time you hear about me!
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
Bre’Youn I write for passion. It’s something that I love to do so making money off of it really is not a concern. Yes, getting money for it, is good but if I didn’t then that would be ok too.
Slyce: Name three authors you’d love to work with.
Bre’Youn: Ehhh it’s so hard to name just three. I wouldn’t say that I would love to work with them now because I feel like I’m not on their level right now; there’s always room for growth. But my top three would have to be Nako, Porscha Sterling and Shvonne Latrice.
