Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
VB: Reading awesome books as a teenager and formulating stories in my head.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
VB: Royalty Publishing House
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
VB: I write urban fiction, contemporary fiction, bbw, young adult. I want to branch out and write a bi-racial book.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
VB: Yes. I write under V. Marie. I have a young adult book out under this name called, “My Heart Is In Harmony” under Treasured Publications. A sub company under Royalty Publishing House.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “War of The Hearts”. What was this book about?
VB: It’s about a young woman who returns home in pursuit of her high school sweetheart. They both are successful in their careers but they have ties to the drug world as well. So, they have to learn how to trust each other if they want the relationship to work. Also, they have other people who don’t want them together.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
VB: It’s a 3 book series.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
VB: Interviews are important because it allows readers to see another side of authors that’s not seen in books.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
VB: Reviews are important because the author can get varying point of views about their work. It lets the author know if they liked it.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
VB: Building a brand means making a name for yourself. Getting a steady fan base that will ride with you. To become a household name.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
VB: I’m putting out dope stories. I’m building and establishing relationships with readers and other authors on social media, in order to get my name out there.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
VB: I wish to become a household name. My first goal is to get a #1 book with many more to follow. Also, to have my own publishing company and write my own television series on cable television.
Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?
VB: To be steadfast. Also, to have tough skin because this is definitely not for the faint at heart! People will cut your work down bad and you have to take it. 🤷🏽♀️
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Vivian Blue?
VB: Yes. I’m working on a new series. Also, I’m working on a screen play for a television series.
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
VB Passion. You have to be passionate in order to be profitable. You can get burned out so fast.
Slyce: Name three authors you’d love to work with.
VB: I don’t have anyone specific. I’d love to work with anyone who wants to get down.
