Meet Author Tiffany Gilbert

Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Tiffany Gilbert to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?

Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?Author Tiffany Gilbert

TG: I have always been a writer I use to write poems when I was younger. Reading urban fiction books made me want to really be an author.

Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?

TG: Bad Girl Publishing

Slyce: In what genre do you write?

TG: Urban Fiction

Slyce: Have you penned under another name?

TG: No

Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Carrying The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders”. What was this book about?

TG: This book was a book for Domestic Violence month it was about a lady name Tosha who was in a situation with her boyfriend where he was beating her on the daily. When she finally got the courage to leave it was too late.

Slyce: How did you come up with this title?

TG: I thought about what women go through when they are being abused even though I never been in that situation and it has to feel like your carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Slyce: How long did it take you to complete this project?

TG: It took me two months to write this story because it was depressing.

Slyce: Name two of the main characters in this book

TG: Tosha and Lavell

Slyce: In what city does this story take place?

TG: Detroit, Mi

Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?

TG: I want to make this book a series but I won’t touch it again until next year October. I can’t tell too much but it’s going to be a part two.

Slyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?

TG: eBook on Amazon

Slyce: You also did a collaboration.  What was the title of the book and who was the author?

TG:  It was called “Love from a thug on valentines day”.  The authors were Erika Williams, Kimberly and Shantay.

Slyce: “In the heart of Detroit” was another book you wrote.  What was this book about?

TG: This book was about a group of women who were living they best life and wanted to get it for they self so they started selling drugs. When everything hit the fan their sufficient other’s find out about what they had been doing. Things take a turn because in the beginning of the book one of the main characters talk about losing her parents and they find out who did it but more will be told in part two because they go from Detroit to Texas.

Slyce: How many books have you penned?

TG:  8 books and by the end of the month. I will have 11 books, 10 of my own book and 1 with my authors.

Slyce: Do you think a new author should have a “team”?

TG:  I believe that every new author should have someone behind them.

Slyce: How important is research?

TG: Research is very important especially when writing you want everything to be right.

Slyce: How important are interviews?

TG: Interviews are very important to be because I get to reach out to other authors or readers. I get to let my supporters learn more about me not just as an author or publish but as a person as well.

Slyce: How important are reviews?

TG I love reviews I think that anytime a book is read a review should be wrote to tell either how you felt about the story or how the story impacted you rather it is a bad or good review. Good reviews I love them and Bad reviews just push me harder.

Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?

TG: Building A Brand means building something a legacy building something your proud of. It takes hard work and dedication when building a brand. Building a brand is something that you want to build up to become successful or make the brand successful something to leave for your children or family.

Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?

TG: Promoting and putting my all into my work and my authors.

Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?

TG: I wish to take my books to the big screen and reach more readers.

Slyce: What advice can you offer those aspiring to become an author?

TG: Never give up if this is something you want to do put your all into it and do it with your all.

Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Tiffany Gilbert?

TG: I have so many releases for 2019 that I am already working on. I also have a clothing line coming in 2019 also me and my authors are planning a book conference.

Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?

TG: I write for a passion. This is something I love to do.

TG: I have been on a radio show for a lady name Mrs. Cathy Evans but I have never done one of my own which I am thinking about doing one later.
