Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
SM: My life experiences and my imagination inspired me to become an author. To be honest I was only planning on writing my life story book. My life story was very challenging to write, so I decided to write a book based off my imagination. I didn’t think that one book would turn to thirty-one.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
SM: I’m currently signed under K. Renee Publications. This is the best move I ever made, having a publisher that believe in you and the whole team is a blessing.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
SM: Urban fiction.
Slyce: Have you ever penned under another name?
SM: No. Author Sherri Marie is the only name I ever used.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Violating The Love Of A Savage”. What was this book about?
SM: “Violating The Love Of A Savage” Is about three brothers Saint, Bishop, and Knowledge. They was taught to stick together. After building and empire and having individual situations things takes a turn for the worse. The brothers problems start to clash and take a toll on them causing them all to fall apart.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
SM: This book is a three-part series.
Slyce: Is this book an eBook and/or paperback?
SM: eBook only right now.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
SM: Interviews are very important. It gives readers a chance to get to know the author behind the pen or should I say laptop lol. It also gives the author a chance to get more exposure.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
SM: Reviews are very important, I read all my reviews. I love to see what the readers think about my work. Good Review motivate me to keep going. Bad reviews motivate me to go harder. I love reviews rather its good or bad.
Slyce: What does the term “Building A Brand” mean?
SM: It means creating your own foundation and building on it. It also means more marketing and promotion for your brand.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
SM: Time, effort, research, promotion and networking.
Slyce: What goals do you wish to achieve as an author?
SM: The goal I want to achieve as an author is to become a # 1 bestseller and turn some of my books into movies. Especially my life story book.
Slyce: Do you write for passion or the profit?
SM: I definitely write for the passion. I love writing because it takes me away from reality. I can live in my own world lol.

Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Sherri Marie?
SM: Yes! I have another series I’m working on. Hopefully, it be out by December. Please stay tuned.
