Slyce: What inspired you to become an Author?
S: I have loved to read ever since I was in grade school. You could always find me somewhere curled with a book. Or I was always writing poetry or some random thoughts in my diary. In my adult years I started to read urban and street fiction an fell in love with it. I seen people of my race and background that I could relate to. That is when I became inspired to write.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
S: Urban Fiction.
Slyce: Have you ever penned under another name?
S: No…but I have just changed the spelling from She’ Marieto Shey Marie to make it easier to search and so people will stop calling me She Marie 
Slyce: You wrote a book titled “I’ll Love You Till Death”. What was this book about?
S: It’s about a young women named Sasha from a small town up north who finds love in a down south Street hustler named Sean. He provides her with a glamorous life but at a high price. Sasha has lost her freedom, her child and possibly her sanity behind loving Sean. This book chronicles her journey on the quest for an unconditional love. While trying to find her place in the world after prison she has to try and navigate through cheating, murder and abuse. Will Sasha ever get her happily ever after and if so, how far is she willing to go to secure the heart of the man she loves.
Slyce: Where can our viewers purchase this book?

Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
S: It is a series including a spinoff novel (Diary of a Hustlerette) which follows her sisters journey. Part 2 of the series will be available early December.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
S: I think that they are very important. It makes the reader feel good to be able to pick the brains of their favorite authors. It develops a relationship too between the readers and the authors because people will feel like they kind of know the person behind the pen.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
S: I think that they are very important because a lot of people read books upon word of mouth. So a review is like someone who loves to read the same type of books that you do or are considering it, recommending a book to you. Or not recommending a book to you.
Slyce: Name three Authors you’d love to work with?
S: Eric Jerome Dickey, Mary Monroe and T.Styles.
Slyce: Do you feel a new Author should have a “Team”?
S: I feel that it is great to have a team because they can become a great support system and will help to share your books as well. But I wouldn’t say that it is necessary if you are a hustler and have a lot of time to devote to and aide your craft.
Slyce: What was one of your biggest mistake you made as a “New Author”?
S: When I started out self publishing I did not use any social media outlets. So I wasn’t sharing my work with anyone but people that I knew and met. I just thought that if they were in a bookstore or amazon, etc. That they would sale themselves, so in return I wasn’t doing any form of marketing.
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
S: I write for the passion. Writing is and always have been a great stress reliever for me. If I make a profit as of a result of it then I definitely will not complain either.
Slyce: What goals do you wish to achieve as a Author?
S: My biggest goal is to capture readers all very the world by walking into any book store and being able to find my books on the shelves.
Slyce: What advice would you offer to those who aspire to become Authors?
S: If you truly love writing, do not give up. It may take months or maybe even years until you solidify yourself in the literary world. But the ends will eventually justify the means and you will feel the magnitude of your accomplishments.
