Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?Author Shavekia Layfield

SL: I have loved to read and write from as far back as I can remember. It was my friends and co workers that pushed me to finally get published because at first I was too afraid that people wouldn’t like my work.

SL: Royalty Publishing House

Slyce: In what genre do you write?

SL: Currently, I only write under Shavekia Layfield… but if I switch over to another genre I will use a pen name.

Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Chozen For These Streets: His Angel & His Streets”. What was this book about?

SL: “Chozen for These Streets: His Angel & His Streets”, is a spin-off to my best seller, “His Angel & His Streets: Holding a Thugs Heart”. This new series is centered around Chozen. He ran away from to get away from home his abusive father and was raised up my Birmingham’s finest, Smooth and Jock. As time goes on, Chozen feels as though he has learned all he needs to know to be the head man in charge. He makes a lot of clumsy mistakes in the first part that leaves him finding it hard to trust people, especially his fiancée, Harmony. He loves Harmony but he finds that he she has lied to him numerous times and is just not sure if she is for or against him. Harmony works hard to prove her loyalty to him and his business, but Chozen is not sure it’s enough, or it just may be too late..

Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?

SL: Currently, part 1 and 2 is available and 3 is in the works.
