Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Raven Shanice to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?

Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?Author Raven Shanice

RS: I’ve always enjoyed writing, I’ve been writing since I was in middle school. What inspired me to become an author is reading other books and speaking with other authors on the process of getting their material published.

Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?

RS: Bad Girl Publishing

Slyce: In what genre do you write?

RS: Urban

Slyce: Have you penned under another name?

RS: No

Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “The Preacher’s Daughter”. What was this book about?

RS: “The Preacher’s Daughter” is a church filled drama where you will follow 16 year old Ateya Harris. The youngest child of Rev. Anthony Harris Sr. She’s a smart young lady with a good head on her shoulders. When Rev. Harris get the opportunity to move his family from Richmond, Virginia to Atlanta Georgia, Ateya meets Lafayette, not knowing that he was going to be the new love of her life…The couple go through a lot of trails and tribulations together, from her getting pregnant and him going to jail. Lafayette gets out and turns to hustling to provide for Ateya and their son. Ateya doesn’t find out until their sons first birthday and that’s where part one of this story ends.

Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?

RS: Series

Slyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?

RS: eBook, paperbacks coming soon

Slyce: How important are interviews?

RS: I feel they are very important. It helps readers get to know new authors and give a new book a try.

Slyce: How important are reviews?

RS Reviews are important because it lets the authors know the opinions of their book good or bad. If it’s something I could work on I’d like to know.

Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?

RS: Building a brand to me means leaving something behind that can be here for years to come. It makes you feel good to know that you have something that you own that the world will see.

Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?

RS: As of now I’m writing my books and one day once I get where I want to be I’d love to help others and become a publisher myself.

Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?

RS: My main goal is to write stories that people can relate too.

Slyce: What advice can you offer those aspiring to become an author?

RS: Don’t give up on your dreams. It’s tough at first getting yourself out there but your time to shine will come 🙂

Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Raven Shanice?

RS: Yes, “The Preacher’s Daughter – 2” and a group project A thugs holiday

Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?

RS: Passion, I want my books to touch people all over the world

Slyce: Have you done blog talk radio?

RS: No

Slyce: Are there any plans for expansion into film?

RS: I would love to have that happen and has been looking into the steps to make it happen.
