Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
MLD: I started in elementary school writing poems and short stories. Growing up as an only child I had a vivid imagination so my passion of becoming a author always was in the back of my mind, until this year I finally made a dream come true.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
MLD: I don’t have a publishing company. I’m a indie writer with the help of Playwright Author Amonty and my pen sister Bijou La Valentina, I’m blessed to have them.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
MLD: I write urban fiction looking forward to venture out and write under a different genre in the future.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
MLD: I’ve never penned under another name. I am a new author.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “You Got Me In A Bad Way”. What was this book about?
MLD: “You Got Me In A Bad Way” is a book about how you never know how far a person will go when feelings are played with. Love is a strong bond in marriage when they say death until us apart, the wife took that very seriously. Don’t want to give anything away , you will just have to read it to see for yourself.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
MLD: This book is a two part series. This book is on Amazon.
Slyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?
MLD: Both book are available as a eBook and paperback.
Slyce: How important is research?
MLD: Research is very important because when writing a book you need to let your readers know that you are not just writing anything.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
MLD: Interviews are very Important especially when you are a new author like me trying to get your name out there.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
MLD To me reviews are very important because they give the readers what to look forward in that author.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
MLD: Building a brand to me is letting people know who you are. When I put a book out my readers already know they are going to get a hot read.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
MLD: As a author we are quick to ask a reader to read our books and give us reviews. I brought 50 watches to give to 50 readers because my readers deserve to be given back to.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Melissa La Drew?
MLD: Yes there is so much more cooking up with Melissa La Drew that will be coming soon.
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
MLD: I write for a passion. My career as a ultrasound tech of 18 years is my profit.

MLD: Authors I would love to work with are my cousin best selling author, Angel M. Hunter, Playwright Author Amonty and my pen sister, Bijou La Valentina
