Slyce: What inspired you to become an Author?
LJ: I have been writing since I was a young girl. I once won first place in a writing contest but my parents could not afford to fly me to Chicago to claim my prize. I knew then I would continue writing and share my stories with the world.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
LJ: Romance Suspense (For now) I plan to venture into the mystery and thriller world soon.
Slyce: What excited you about your genre?
LJ: Love excites me over all. I love a good romance story and I love creating characters who have taboo relationships. The Gemini in me causes me to create love stories with twists and turns. Love should be fun and interesting anyway

Slyce: Have you ever penned under another name?
LJ: No.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled “Secrets, Lies And The Cover Up”. What was this book about?
LJ: This book is about a very well educated and poised woman name Leah. She and her husband Brenden are very successful but due to his work demands he travels a lot and she becomes lonely. She is propositioned by a the Sexy Antonio Blake and it is revealed that they have a past. You find out there is a huge secret that everyone has kept hidden from her. This is definitely not your average love story.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
LJ: It is a 3-part series.
Slyce: Where can our viewers purchase this book?
LJ: The book may be purchased on Amazon/Kindle and Barnes and Noble.
Slyce: Is this book a e-book and/or paperback?
LJ: Both
Slyce: How important are reviews?
LJ: Very very important. A lot of readers check out the reviews prior to purchasing a book. In addition, reviews also is a helpful tool to us writers. We value our readers opinions and love hearing their feedback. This helps when we decide to continue to our next projects. We keep in mind the responses we received from our readers.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
LJ: I got these two questions mixed up but I’m gonna keep the party going here. Interviews are important. It allows your readers to connect with you on a personal level.
Slyce: What does the term “Building a Brand” mean?
LJ: To me it is your fingerprint. It identifies who you are and what makes you different.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
LJ: I am trying to connect more with my readers so they can know who i am as an author and my writing style.
Slyce: What does the term “Learn the Craft” mean?
LJ: This means learning your own unique writing style as well as learning the ins and outs of the book business.
Slyce: What tools have you found most useful in distributing you material?
LJ: Word of mouth, flyers, interviewing, and networking.
Slyce: Do you feel a new Author should have a “Team”?
LJ: Yes I do. I do not think this is a business you can do alone. Even if you self publish I feel you will need the help with marketing, branding, etc. Plus its good to learn from others who can bring a different area of expertise.
Slyce: What was one of your biggest mistake you made as a “New Author”?
LJ: Not researching the editing process

Slyce: What goals do you wish to achieve as a Author?
LJ: To become a NY Times best seller and venture into the film world.
Slyce: What advice would you offer to those aspiring to become a Author?
LJ: Keep going and DO NOT give up. Also, write what YOU want to write. Do not allow anyone to take away your creativity.
Slyce: Is there anything cooking in the lab for Author L.R. Jackson?
LJ: Yes. I am working on a book called “Falling for his wife” coming soon.
LJ: I also have another stand alone book out now called “A Fatal Love Affair”.
