Meet Author Justjae Warner

Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Justjae Warner to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah:-).  Are you ready?

Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?

JW: I have always been a writer. I wrote poetry at age 13…but I didn’t start writing novels until 25. I read Maya Angelou’s book of poems and that was it. I knew I wanted to write.

Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?

JW: Justjae Warner Presents

Slyce: In what genre do you write?

JW: I write all genres. I have 3 street fiction, 2 poetry, 1 love and relationships short story collection, 1 sci-fi, 1 erotica, and 1 urban christian.

Slyce: Have you penned under another name?

JW: I’ve never owned under another name and I won’t.

Slyce: You wrote a book titled “Shameless Sins”. What was this book about?

JW: “Shameless Sins” is a three part street fiction series about love…the live of money, power, drugs, and lust.

Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Justjae Warner?

JW: Yes plenty. I’m working on two part two novels currently and I just started my first romance collaboration.

Slyce: How important are interviews?

JW: For me, interviews are a key part of getting my name and face out to possible supporters and readers.

Slyce: How important are reviews?

JW: Reviews are sometimes what sells new readers on a book especially from an author they’ve never heard of. They are extremely important.

Slyce: What does the term “Building a Brand” mean?

JW: Branding means making a name for yourself through your work and what you represent. It means making it so that a loyal reader will know what to expect from you.

Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?

JW: I am currently on a virtual promo tour which started Feb 25th and won’t end until June 25th. I’m showing those who haven’t heard of me what I have to offer and what to expect.

Slyce: What does the phrase “Learn the Craft” mean?

JW: It means taking the time to learn the tricks of your chosen trade. To pearl your audience and other authors and to learn what is necessary to be successful in your craft.

Slyce: Name three authors you’d love to work with.

JW: Ashantay Keys-Titus, Toylin Simone and Britainy N Moore

Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?

JW: I want to write at least one good book in almost every genre… So far I have six genres under my belt.

Slyce: Do you see your book on the “Big Screen”?

JW: Yes. There are two of my nine that I’m already in the process of going in that direction with.

Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring Authors?

JW: Just do it. There’s nothing worse than wishing you had done it already.

Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?

JW: Passion… If I never make a dollar I will still write until I cant.

JW: All of my books are available in both paperback and e-book.
