Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
JS: I’ve always wrote something. Even as a kid I wrote stories and poems.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
JS: Rhema Publishing
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
JS: I normally write in the Genre of Spiritual, life teaching but I publish any Genre.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Lost in Jacksonville: Testimony of an Underdog”. What was this book about?
JS: My life story. Journey
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
JS: It’s a stand alone.
Slyce: Is this book an audio, eBook and/or paperback?
JS: At this moment it’s currently only paperback. It may be in eBook form soon.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
JS: To me building a brand is to solidify your lineage. A man should work for his last name instead of his first name.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
JS: Marketing, hard work, and quality
Slyce: How important are interviews?
JS: They are very important. You get to know the mind of the author. Direct connection. You either click with them or you don’t at that time
Slyce: How important are reviews?
JS: Reviews are important also. You get to see what readers think of your creation. Is it captivating or is it a 3 pointer shot in the trash can. You learn from reviews you get a sense of what the readers like and dislike
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
JS: For this particular book it was neither. It was for healing. But in general it is an assignment. An assignment to help others.
Slyce: What advice can you offer to those aspiring to become Authors?
JS: Just start it… Just start writing, structure it later, chapter it later. Just write.
Slyce: What goals do you wish to achieve as an author?
JS: Perhaps get my story told in a movie.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author John Starkes?
JS: Oh certainly. More books , more Authors

JS: Any 3 is fine with me.

JS: No I have not as of yet but would like to if the opportunity presented itself
