Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Jazlyn to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?
Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
Jazlyn: I have been reading books since I was young. My mom and I would say we would write a book together and never got around to it. One day I was talking to her and my boyfriend about it they encouraged me to write my first book. Here we are today.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
Jazlyn: The company I am published with is True Glory.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
Jazlyn: I write Urban Fiction.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
Jazlyn: No, I haven’t.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Lies and Flies”. What was this book about?
Jazlyn: It is about three friends who come home from their first year of college and get together like they did in high school. They meet up with some old and new male friends and everybody secrets are being revealed. You will find out who have been lying and who have been sleeping around with the other person man. Someone might die. You have to read it to see.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
Jazlyn: This book is a series.
Slyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?
Jazlyn: It is an eBook.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
Jazlyn: Interviews are very important to me. People get to see who the author Jazlyn is. It’s more exposure also. The more interviews I do, the more people I get to meet.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
Jazlyn: Reviews are VERY important. I, myself read reviews for everything. This is also giving me a chance to know what the readers think of my work. I will know what they like, what they don’t like, and what they want to see more of.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
Jazlyn: The term “Building a Brand” means that I am building what I want people to perceive me as. For example, if I want to be known as the “Trilogy Queen” then all of my books will be trilogies. When people here my books or my name they will know who I am.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
Jazlyn: The first step I am taking is marketing. I am doing everything I can to get my name and my work out into the public.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
Jazlyn: I want my books to be on everybody bestsellers list. I also want them to be translated into movies and many different languages.
Slyce: What advice can you offer those aspiring to become an author?
Jazlyn: You can do anything you put your mind to. Let your imaginations run while. If you have nobody supporting you still go on and write your book and you will be surprised at how many people will love your work.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Jazlyn?
Jazlyn: Yes, my next book “Blood Brothers” and “Lies and Flies” Part 2 will be out soon.
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
Jazlyn: I write for the passion. Profit is just a plus. Even if I didn’t make any money I would still write. It’s my way to escape.
