Meet Author Jae Tene

Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Jae Tene to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?

Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?Author Jae Tene

JT: I’ve always wanted to be an author but to be honest reading Various authors and how they tell their stories and then how hey made me feel. I wanted to give my readers that same feeling and I knew I had the talent since I was a little girl so to showcase it meant the world to me.

Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?

JT: Mz Lady P Presents

Slyce: In what genre do you write?

JT: Urban Literature but I have also branches out recently for Paranormal Urban Fiction.

Slyce: Have you penned under another name?

JT: Nope, it’s just Jae Tene

Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Cursed In The Hood”. What was this book about?

JT: “Cursed in the Hood” is about Fiona, a biracial young woman who has been hit by tragedy so much that it becomes normal. While recovering and building herself back up she ends up encountering a witch and from there her life takes a drastic change.

I’m still deciding, if the readers want a Part two I could see it. We shall see *wink*

Slyce: When is the release date?

JT: “Cursed in the Hood will” be available as soon as possible. I’ll make sure to post it on Facebook- the SLYCE GROUP so if you want to read about Fiona and her journey make sure you’re following SLYCE GROUP because they will get the link first!

Slyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?

JT: This will be eBook and paperback.

Slyce: How important is research?

JT: Beyond important. These readers are smart and if you sell someone something in your book for the wrong price they will know or if you talking about a store or location you have to make sure your readers feel that they are there. Doing that research will help you give them all of that.

Slyce: How important are interviews?

JT: Very important. Just as reviews shows the Author their growth, interviews show readers the growth as well. It’s gets you excited about a new Release and what the author has for the future as well as new readers if they have never heard anything from an author.

Slyce: How important are reviews?

JT I think they’re important for growth and to see how people enjoy your books. I don’t want anyone to feel the way I felt at first thinking nobody liked my book because they didn’t leave a review. Some people love your books just don’t like to leave reviews. Me personally I love them and love to see what people thought good or bad. It builds be either way at my craft.

Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?

JT: Building a brand means building a foundation for your readers to fall back on. Meaning, when they see your name they know what type of heat you’re bringing and that you will fulfill their needs.

Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?

JT: I’ve created accounts to keep up with my readers as well as interacting with them and getting a feel of what they desire from me as an author.

Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?

JT: I hope to one day have a best seller or two or three haha, I want to touch someone. I want my books to help someone heal or push harder to be better. Thugs Paradise helped me through a few things and I have always thanked Mz Lady P for that.

Slyce: What advice can you offer those aspiring to become an author?

JT: Push and know your talent. Know that you have a gift and even if your style doesn’t fit their ideas it’s a great style. Don’t let this views change you because you are great!
