Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our brother, Author Drick to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my brother:-). Are you ready?
Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
Drick: It was crazy because I was incarcerated and in the hole reading books that wasn’t leaving fulfilled so I decided to try myself and that’s how it started.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
Drick: I have no publisher. I am an independent author.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
Drick: My literature is Urban fiction with a lot of erotica.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
Drick: No, Drick is the only name I’ve written under
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Shawty Crazy”. What was this book about?
Drick: The title says it all. Khaleel the player was the man all ladies lusted for. He got with whoever could afford him but one lady was head over heals for him and wanted him to herself at any cost.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
Drick: It ties into my first novel, “Do Dreams Come True”.
Slyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?
Drick: Yes eBook and paperback
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
Drick: I would love to be in every discussion about the best author. That would be lovely.
Slyce: What advice can you offer those aspiring to become authors?
Drick: Keep pushing that pen and don’t be scared if criticism. That’s what help you grow in your craft.
Slyce: Can you name some of your other published material?
Drick: My first novel was “Do Dreams Come True”. It’s my baby.
Slyce: Are there any plans for expansion into film?
Drick: That would be a blessing. If the opportunity ever presents itself, I’m definitely going for it.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Drick?
Drick: Yes, I’m currently putting the finishing touches on the continuation of Raheem and Mike’s story from my first book.
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
Drick: I write for our passion. The freedom to be whoever on any level is a beautiful feeling.
Slyce: Name three authors you’d love to work with.
Drick: I would love to work with K’Wan. He’s my favorite. I would also like to work with my Va. Native Nikki Turner and Eric Jerome Dickie.
