Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our brother, Author C. Hicks to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my brother:-). Are you ready?
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company? 
CH: PenBullies
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
CH: The books that I’ve written are under street literature/Urban.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
CH: No
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “I Do It For The Love Of It”. What was this book about?
CH: The book is about a man coming from prison and with the help of his longtime friends and unknown family, he starts a drug empire, then when he bumps into a talented friend from prison he starts a record label and takes his money making ways on legal avenues.
Slyce: Name two of your main characters
CH: Champ and Blaze
Slyce: How long did it take you to complete this project?
CH: I wrote these books while in prison, so honestly it took me close to a year to write all three.
Slyce: How did you come up with your title?
CH: They were titled differently in the beginning, but I was told I should have a title more appealing.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
CH: Series
Slyce: How important are interviews?
CH: I believe interviews are very important because they give readers of your work a view into the person behind the pen.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
CH: Building a brand to me means you’re building up yourself so that people will buy into you as well as your work.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
CH: The steps that I myself am taking is just being myself, and also promoting my books more.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
CH: My biggest goal is to just get my books read. Being as though I’m freshly birthed in the literary industry that seems to be the hardest part; to get people to take a chance on me.
Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?
CH: My advice would be to be yourself because believe it or not, there’s somebody that will be a fan of yours whether you believe it or not.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author C. Hicks?
CH: As of right now, my third book of the series and another crazy idea I have that I don’t want to give away just yet.

CH: Both of my books can be purchased on Amazon.
Slyce: What authors past or present had an influence on you?
CH: Truthfully, the Authors that influenced me the most were all the authors that I was reading during my state paid vacation that had me thinking that I could not just do this, but better than this.
Slyce: What was one of your biggest mistakes a a new author?
CH: My biggest mistake was coming into this industry thinking that I knew more than I didn’t, and not branding myself properly.
Slyce: Do you feel a new author should have a team?
CH: Yes.
Slyce: What is UNscripted?
CH: UNscripted is a blog show me and a friend are doing, giving people a voice via our platform. Check us out. We just be on there funnin’.
Slyce: Have you ever done a collaboration?
CH: Not yet.
Slyce: Would you like to do one with Slyce?
CH: Why wouldn’t I? You’re the OG. I would lose street cred if I wouldn’t want to.
