Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our brother, Author A. Paj Turner to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my brother:-). Are you ready?

Author A. Paj Turner

Slyce: Have you ever penned under another name?

APT: Yes. My pen name is A. PAJ (PAGE) Turner. Get it? A page turner.

Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “The Emancipation of Limits”. What was this book about?

APT: Richie, a visionary and an entrepreneur, returned to Chicago and built businesses in the black communities. He provided better opportunities for his people by recreating the success of Black Wall Street with profits from the drug trade. Once Richie felt the communities could flourish without his assistance, he would exit the game. His connect, takes extreme measures to solidify their ties. Testing Richie’s ability to adapt to any situation, the unpredictability of violence leaves him vulnerable, pressuring him to stay the course. To add to his already difficult situation, an opposing crime organization and Chicago’s deadliest gang elements aim to take him off his path to emancipate his people from society’s controlling influences. Can Richie and his team overcome the obstacles and roadblocks placed before them? Or will they fall victim to the streets, sending their revolution in a blaze?

Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?

APT: It’s a three book series written in reverse chronological order. Like Star Wars. The next Book is called “The Proclamation of a God”. Last book of the Series is called “The Beginning…The Reign of Marble Head.

Slyce: Is this book an audio, eBook and/or paperback?

APT: All will be available except for audio which will be done at a later time.

Slyce: How important are interviews?

APT: Extremely important. It lets the reader know who the author is. Puts a personality to the book. Understanding his views and why he wrote the book is intriguing to the readers. People purchase things based of the author and not the materiel sometimes.

Slyce: How important are reviews?

APT: Reviews are just important. If people are saying your book is great and gives it 5 stars, it will prompt other readers to give it a try. If they say it’s bad, they won’t buy it unless they just want to support the author.

Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?

APT: Building your brand means that you are establishing your company as THEE source for what your target audience needs. Not just watching the number of likes you get. That’s just counting.

Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?

APT: Great question. I am selling myself, my accomplishments and the things I have done to get me to this point. The book comes second and will sell based off of what I stand for. Go to www.apajturner.com to see my style, my thought process and the military accomplishments.

Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?

APT: I started writing for passion. Just to see if I could complete a book. Then I want to take my passion and turn it to profit. Books are the foundation. I want to make the E of L a series. So I need the profits to make that happen.

Slyce: What advice can you offer to those aspiring to become Authors?

APT: Just write. Outline what you want to write about and don’t worry about grammar errors and not being clear with your ideas. That’s what editors are for. Learn the business first.

Slyce: What goals do you wish to achieve as an author?

APT: Just write great books about our community, uplift black women as we should,. Make them strong character and not what the media portrays. Make movies. series, short stories…..

Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author A. Paj Turner?

APT: I am completing a script for E of L. I already completed a book trailer (check for it on my website, on the works tab) that will give you a glimpse of the 10 minute short film that will be going into production soon, detailing chapter 1. Finish up writing the series of course and complete my Sci-Fi book. Hopefully you’ll see the series on a black-owned network.

Slyce: Have you done blog talk, radio or podcast?

APT: Yes. All three. I have a blog on my website.
