Meet Author Dominique Lambright

Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Dominique Lambright to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?

Author Dominique Lambright

Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?

DL: I’ve always loved words since I learned how to write. How you can put them together and manipulate them. When I was younger I was very good manipulator of words and I told stories all the time to get what I wanted or for people to believe certain things. Not proud of it because I got in a lot of trouble but as I got older writing was always there for me and helped me express myself. I’m a very shy person and writing helps me get everything I want to say out. I read tons of books and my love of storytelling formed in a different way.

Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?

DL: I do not have one yet. I am republishing my books to Amazon as a self publisher again and I have a few names in mind of what I want to call it ðŸ˜Š

Slyce: In what genre do you write?

DL: I am a multi-genre writer. I hate putting myself in a box in anything that I do. I love most genres of books. I’ve published poetry, short stories, and novels ranging from romance, erotica, thriller, horror, family oriented, etc.

Slyce: Have you ever penned under another name?

DL: No I have not. I never wanted to do that because I wanted people to know it was me. ðŸ˜Š

Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Anastasia”. What was this book about?

DL: “Anastasia” originated from a short story I wrote in college about a teenage girl who was physically abused by her mother. Her mother is a lunch lady at her high school so she can’t escape seeing her. She lost her father when she was 4, he left her mother and so she planned to try and find him and rekindle their relationship and hope to live with him. When I went back to enhance the book, I gave detail on how her mother and father met and their relationship before he left and then how it has affected Anastasia and her life. Ultimately the question is will they end up working things out? Will her family get back together when she finds her dad?

Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?

DL: It is a stand alone. I don’t plan to write any series until later on in my career as a writer. I want more free time to do so and as of now my family and work schedule permits stand alone haha

Slyce: Is this book an audio, eBook and/or paperback?

DL: This book is both paperback and eBook. Because I just got my rights back for my books and am currently republishing on Amazon they are not currently there. But I have paperbacks to mail out ðŸ˜Š

Slyce: How important are interviews?

DL: I think interviews are very important so that people can get to know me. As mentioned above my work and family schedule can get hectic and a lot of the time I can’t sit and just enjoy a lot of the groups that I am in as an author. But the plan is to do better on this in 2021. I think it will help my reader audience ðŸ˜Š

Slyce: How important are reviews?

DL: Reviews are great for any writer. It allows feedback from people who don’t know you and those who do know you to show support, but at the same time being honest. It is the only way you can improve as a writer ðŸ˜Š

Slyce: What does the term “Building A Brand” mean?

DL: To me it means creating an image where people can identify you. Generating awareness about your business using strategies and campaigns with the goal of creating a unique and lasting image in the marketplace. Positive image + standing out = brand success.

Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?

DL: I am focusing more on how I can engage better with readers. Hopefully I can interact and help other authors and readers know me a little better. And I also try to support whomever I can so that I can get the same in return. Many authors ask to share or tag me in their releases. I am down for it. Whenever I see a post asking, I comment saying “yes tag me”.

Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?

DL: I write for passion. I have my business where my full time income comes from, Dmleditingandwriting.com. If I never made any money from my books I would still love the feeling of knowing my writing is circulating somewhat and that I can physically hold my own work. It is a truly a passion to story tell and see how my writing affects other people.

Slyce: What goals do you wish to achieve as an author?

DL: I wish to become an Amazon bestseller one day and I would cherish that title lol. But again, as mentioned its the love of writing that fuels me and keeps me using my imagination to challenge what I can write next.

Slyce: Name three authors you’d love to work with.

DL: I am not sure honestly. I’ve worked with Sami Hayes on a Christmas anthology.

Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Dominique Lambright?

DL: Yes so many ideas. I have about 20 books lined up to start writing haha. I have the covers and synopses already haha. I’m a planner and very organized so that is incorporated when I plan to write a book. I am an avid outline as well. In 2021 I have 3 books I am hoping to publish: 2/14/21 Mind Fucked (erotica), Confessions of a Psychopath (psychological thriller), and a paranormal fiction ðŸ˜Š

Slyce: Have you ever done blog talk/podcast radio?

DL: I currently have my own blog for my business and there have a been a few times I’ve been featured in blogs. Podcast, no, though I have been invited for a few in 2021.
