Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Betty Pinckney to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?
Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
BP: My stage plays inspired me to become an author. My first book is an adaptation of a two part play I did called, “If Walls Could Talk, They Would Tell Secrets. It was a play about hidden family secrets that needed to be exposed in order for healing to take place. I wrote the book to give a back story of the Matriarch of the family who went by the motto, “What goes on in this house, stays in this house.” I wanted to show that there is a root to every problem.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
BP: BP Productions LLC
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
BP: My first book is Christian Fiction- Drama. My second book is Christian Fiction- crime suspense.
Slyce: Have you ever penned under another name?
BP: No
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Only You: A Short Story”. What was this book about?
BP: “Only You” book is about a beautiful, bestseller, romance author who writes romance stories everyone dreams about including her, but what she doesn’t know is there is a delusional fan who thinks the romance stories she writes about is about him and her.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
BP: This book is a stand alone book.
Slyce: Is this book an eBook and/or paperback?
BP: Yes, this book is in eBook, paperback, and audible versions that can be found on Amazon.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
BP: I believe interviews are important because viewers get to see and hear me pour out my heart and get a better understanding of what and why I do what I do.
Slyce: What does the term “Building A Brand” mean?
BP: Building my brand means I am establishing my company to be a source that my target audience needs to grow, learn, and be inspired by.
Slyce: Do you write for passion or the profit?
BP: Both. I am passionate about reaching my audience to inspire them to be better. However, I need profit to continue walking in my purpose and helping my audience live better lives.
Slyce: What goals do you wish to achieve as a new author?
BP: My goals are to relate and connect with people as well as teach them how to overcome obstacles. I don’t want to just show problems, I want to give them tools to help solve them.
Slyce: What advice can you offer to those aspiring to become an author?
BP: Don’t get discouraged because many people do not know who you are yet. Keep writing. Stay focused, and concentrate on the lives you are touching.

BP: Yes, I am currently in preproduction for Only You Film and working on an upcoming release date of my new book.
