Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Stacey Fenner to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah:-). Are you ready?
Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
SF: I’ve always enjoyed writing all my life. Writing has always been my escape from reality and soothes my soul. It was always a dream that I wanted to fulfill.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
SF: I recently started my own publishing company. It’s called P&D Publishing after my late mother and brother who were my two biggest supporters.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
SF: I write Urban Romance and Street literature.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
SF: No I haven’t as of yet but it’s a thought of mine.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled “New Haven Ratchet Business 3”. What was this book about?
SF: This series stems from my hometown New Haven, CT, a small city with a lot of Ratchetness going on. It’s about the men who stay home making a living off a women and how they get away with it. It’s about how vulnerable women are and how we fall for the lies that men tell us! Men that don’t add, all these men do is subtract! They’re bums and cheaters that constantly break hearts! Ratchet but true situations that every woman has found herself in, strung out on a bum that was never worthy in the 1st place.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
SF: It’s a series
Slyce: How important are interviews?
SF: Very, interviews let the readers know who I am as an Author and person. It’s a part of promoting myself.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
SF: Reviews are very important the more reviews the better sales will be. Readers don’t understand how important a review is to the Author. Amazon is making it harder and harder for a reader to leave their review.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
SF: Branding is building a following, customers, my craft.
Slyce: What does the phrase, “Learn The Craft” mean?
SF: Learn the art, no matter how good a story may be or how well you write. You don’t know it all. Be willing to learn.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
SF: I hire people to promote me and my books, I do as many interviews as possible and I interact with people on social media and in person. The more I get my name out there the better off I will be. I have my books at local flea markets and in local book stores. I do as many book signings that time will allow. I ask successful Authors for advice to help me where I may be falling short and I never limit myself.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Stacey Fenner?
SF: Yes I’m going to continue to grow my publishing company. I’m in the process of writing a stage play, “New Haven Ratchet Business Part 4”. “Commandments of a female hustler part 3” is coming out soon along with “Kiss 4 Kiss Cry 4 Cry”.
Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?
SF: My advice is to do the research. Know what you’re getting into especially when you sign with a publisher. Promote yourself as much as possible. Don’t expect to be an overnight success, it takes time and hard work.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
SF: My goal is to be on the New York Times bestselling list. I want to be known world wide.

SF: Terry McMillan, T Styles, Sister Souljah
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
SF: I write because it’s my passion with the hopes of being able to write on a full time basis.
Slyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?
SF: All my books are eBooks and available in paperback.
