Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
SC: I got betrayed by two people I loved and wanted to write about it but changed the whole book once I was done.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
SC: KR PUBLISHING
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
SC: Urban, thriller, suspense, mystery, fiction and working on a romance short story now.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
SC: No I never penned under another name.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “Street Soulja”. What was this book about?
SC: About a young hustla who made it big and got betrayed by his mentor. Betrayal is something Soulja couldn’t and wouldn’t accept.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
SC: It’s a series: Street Soulja 1 & 2 are already out.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
SC: Real important because people gone read what you say. It can help you or hurt you depending on how people take your answers. All I can give y’all is the truth.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
SC: Reviews are very important.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
SC: Building a brand is very important. When you’re an author, you are your brand. I try to write what I want to write but I also give the people what they ask for. My brand is everything to me.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
SC: I’m doing anything that brings good attention to me and my books and my company. I’m also helping other authors that’s having problems getting their books out, rather it’s signing them or giving them the game of how to self publish.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
SC: To make KR PUBLISHING an empire, to drop best seller after best seller and to inspire young people to write. At KR PUBLISHING, we believe everyone has a story to tell.
Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?
SC: I’ll tell everyone who wants to write, to write. Don’t let no one tell you that you can’t do it because everybody got a story to tell. Follow your heart and don’t let nobody tell you, you can’t do it. You will get better with each book you write.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Soulja Choc?
SC: Actual yes it is, Ken 2 dropped today and I’m dropping, GUTTA SQUAD LIFESTYLE next week, which is part 2 to The Birth Of Gutta Squad. I have 6 books out now and I’m working on a romance short now.

SC: I write for the passion
