Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
MP: My best friend inspired me.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
MP: My company is Liberatedmindsbookclub.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
MP: Urban fiction/ romance/ erotica.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
MP: No, this year will be my first year trying out my new pen name Moneykay.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “The Real Trap Wives of Memphis”. What was this book about?
MP: It was about 3 wives trying to do a man’s job as their husbands run the streets. The tale of 3 wives dealing with their husbands infidelity and lack of manhood.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
MP: Interviews are extremely important. They make you or brake you.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
MP: Building a brand means sleepless nights, early mornings, sweat, blood and tears. The goal is to keep branding until I no longer have to introduce myself.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?
MP: Pushing marketing, designing more product/inventory.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
MP: My goal is to touch life topics to inform people about situations people are facing. I want to reach people maybe helping them in some way.
Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?
MP: Never give up everything is about trail and error. Every book may not be a #1 best seller but keep pushing and perfecting your craft.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Monica Parker?
MP: Yes. I am always in the lab mixing up some beautiful word counts. 2018, I plan on releasing 10 books including a few collaborations with some Vets in the book industry.
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
MP: Passion.
