Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author M. Skye to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?
Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?
MS: Reading and watching TV. I was watching something one day and hated how it ended, so I started doing fan fiction and short stories at first and it developed into full length novels.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
MS: I’m under contract with Urban and Carl Webber and then I also self publish under my imprint called Pink Flame.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
MS: Mostly, romantic suspense and I’m getting into thrillers too.
Slyce: Have you penned under another name?
MS: I’ve only ever used my pen name.
Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “She Married, I’m Married, Our Secret”. What was this book about?
MS: The book is centered in Columbia and is about a collective of crime families that are all trying to coexist in their circle. The main couple are teenagers and they come into the fold both married off to other people but are insanely in love with each other. They face a lot of hardships to get back to the love they shared as children and end up being one hell of a power couple.
Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?
MS: It was a two book series that happened to be a spin off from a previous series, Anthony and Asia.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
MS: Interviews are important and help people get to know the person behind the books.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
MS: Reviews help people get to know the book and characters as long as they’re constructive.
Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?
MS: To me, it means establishing who you are and what your voice is and expanding on it, giving your all to creating great quality work.
Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?
MS: I would love to get into screenplays.
Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?
MS: First and foremost, to go for it and make sure it’s fun for you! I enjoy it so much more when I’m getting to do what I love and I can create so fast when I’m in love with the characters and story.
Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author M. Skye?
MS: I’m working on a thriller 😍

MS: Passion most definitely
