Meet Author Miz Lala

Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author Miz Lala to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah:-).  Are you ready?

Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?

ML: Writing has always been my passion since I was thirteen. I would start writing novels, but something would deter me from finishing them. It wasn’t until Dec-Jan of last year(2016) that I was reading books on Kindle, that I decided to not only write another novel, but to finish it..and I did.

Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?

ML: I am currently signed to GrandPenz Publication

Slyce: In what genre do you write?

ML: I write street lit!

Slyce: Have you penned under another name?

ML: I’ve never used another pen name, only Miz. Lala

Slyce: You wrote a book titled “Be The One To Hold Me Down”. What was this book about?

ML: “Be The One To Hold Me Down” was about a young woman named Assanti Harris; whose misguided and goes through a series of test to find out who she really is. Her main test was learning to love herself and realizing that there is a difference between love and lust, loyalty and stupidity.

Slyce: Is the book a series or a standalone?

ML: “Be The One To Hold Me Down” is a series. (LINK)

Slyce: How important are interviews?

ML: Interviews are very important! It is a tool to help authors bring awareness to their work. Networking and using this channel helps put your name out there. It’s like celebrities promoting concerts and singles and stuff. If they never did promo and interviews no one would know that they’re relevant. So they’re very important especially for new up-and-coming authors.

Slyce: How important are reviews?

ML: Reviews are almost as important as interviews. The feedback from the readers helps the author see the mistakes made and can hopefully help them to not make the same mistakes in the future. Reviews are an authors best friend!

Slyce: What does the term “Building a Brand” mean?

ML: Building a brand means to promote yourself and believe in the product your selling. No one can advertise and promote you better than YOU!!

Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?

ML: Well right now I am networking with other authors and readers. I am investing in logo’s, banners and business cards. I am also very active on social media, so that helps as well.

Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?

ML: I think any author, not just myself wants to make the National Bestsellers list, but to also be known as an author who writes bomb stories that has a message everyone can learn from.

Slyce:What advice would you like to share with aspiring Authors?

ML: NEVER GIVE UP, Always try to be better than you were yesterday & BELIEVE IN YOU AND THE STORY YOU’RE TRYING TO TELL.

Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author Miz Lala?

ML: I have a book called “How did I last this long without?” Dropping very soon, and I’m working on another book as well. So keep your eye out for that!

Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?

ML: Writing is my stress reliever. Most people drink, smoke or do drugs to cope with life…I just write. I write from my heart not my pocket! (That’s my tagline) So, writing is my passion.
