Meet Author E.N. Hardy

Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author E.N. Hardy to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-).  Are you ready?

Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?

ENH: Well, I actually started wring as a young child, mainly for therapeutic reasons. I have kept journals my entire life. It wasn’t until 2012 at the recommendation of my husband that I tell my story. The rest is history!

Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?

ENH: I am self-published and the name of my publishing company is Hard Pen Publications.

Slyce: In what genre do you write?

ENH: Technically, African American, Urban Fiction. But I like to call my work Emotional Fiction. All I care about is how the reader feels when they have read my work. I write very vivid, descriptive pieces that aim to evoke emotions.

Slyce: Have you penned under another name?

ENH: No

Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “I Used To Cry”. What was this book about?

ENH:

I Used To Cry Synopsis

Slyce: Is this book a stand alone or a series?

ENH: This is a series! So, look forward to “I Used To Cry, Essence Evolved” real soon!!

Slyce: How important are interviews?

ENH: There are so many Authors out here with amazing work. Interviews are extremely important as a tool to get your work in front of the readers! Interviews across different platforms potentially get you in front of a larger audience! Not only just that but, give the reader an opportunity to know the writer as a person and hear their views and opinions!

Slyce: How important are reviews?

ENH: Well, reviews are very important for many reasons. On Amazon, your books are not recommended to readers until you have a certain amount of reviews. Also, you have some readers that are skeptical of new authors and won’t even consider reading their work until they start to see favorable reviews.

Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?

ENH: When people hear the name Hard Pen Publications or EN Hardy, they should automatically associate the two with “I Used To Cry”! I am currently working on building this brand. I actually started before the book was published. It takes time and committed effort to build a brand, but its coming along!

Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?

ENH: Networking with other authors, lots of social networking and not just on Facebook! Reaching out to book clubs, marketing, book signing events, blog talk tours, blog tours, blogging, you name it!!

Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?

ENH: My ultimate goal is to reach, motivate, and relate to woman all over the world that need to know that they are not alone. To help them heal, and move past traumatic issues/situations that they may be dealing with in their lives. Also, to make people feel, with my emotional style of writing.

Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author E.N. Hardy?

ENH: Of Course!!! Book 2 in the “I Used To Cry” series is coming soon. Even thinking about a third book! Also have plans for a poetry/short story compilation in the near future as well.

Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?
