JG: I am an avid reader and always wrote then while incarcerated i wrote my first book The Confessional Heart of a Man.
Slyce: What goals do you wish to achieve as an Author?
JG: To be the best ever.
Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?
JG: GPA MEDIA INC.
Slyce: When did you published your first book and what was the title?
JG: 2009 The Confessional Heart of a Man.
Slyce: How many books have you published ?
JG: 9 singular books and several anthologies.
Slyce: In what genre do you write?
JG: Poetry, children’s Erotic/Sensual Mystery, Science fiction.
Slyce: Have you penned under any other names?
JG: James Gordon, G.P.A., Poetic Unsub, Pizzle.
Slyce: You wrote a book entitled, “Angelica’s Box” – what was this book about?
JG: Angelica’s Box is a break from one personality to another told in poetic form that focuses on love, rejection lust, and romance.

JG: of course.
Slyce: What does the term “building a brand” mean?
JG: broadening the impact of your name so that it is far reaching.
Slyce: What steps are you taking to build a brand?
JG: I am a constant grinder. I make it my business to be as many places as possible. And what i do, I’m the best at.
Slyce: What are you thoughts on the .99 cent book?
JG: Necessary evil. it’s almost like making a book free. If you’re a newer author it allows readers to grab your work and see you. As an experienced author, it can be a token of appreciation to faithful readers.
Slyce: How important is a team to a new Author?
JG: A team is important period, but to a new author, it is invaluable to have one.
Slyce: What does the phrase “learn the craft” mean?
JG: know what you’re doing. as an author, poet, storyteller, and actor i understand that i must always improve in order to be better.
Slyce: How important are interviews?
JG: Interviews allow everyone to get an insight to who you are as an author and beyond.
Slyce: How important are reviews?
JG: To the author, they are a decent barometer of how you’re book is received. And on Amazon, it helps to have your book spotlighted.
Slyce: How receptive are you to a bad review?
JG: I’ve gotten better at brushing them off. it helps that i don’t receive many.
Slyce: Do you write for the passion or for the profit?
JG: Both.
Slyce: There anything else cooking in the lab for Author James Gordon?
JG: Right now, we’re promoting Angelica’s Box. Then as James Gordon, we are bringing the next installment of Bobo.
